Our screening schedule is more busy than ever with the addition of a new program called Long Shots. While still being a short film festival and remaining true to its goal of discovering new talent, This is England will now also show a selection of feature films, looking back on British cinema in all its diversity.
For this first edition of Long Shots, we have selected 3 films :
- Chicken Run (Wed. 14th Nov. 2.00pm) will screen in French to allow the younger generations to discover this classic British animation, already celebrating its 18th anniversary.
- Pulp, A Film About Life, Death and Supermarkets is an original documentary following the return of cult band Pulp in their hometown, Sheffield, for a final concert. This screening will start with a mini-concert from Popping Hole. (Wed. 14th Nov. 5.30pm)
- Adult Life Skills is the feature-length adaptation of Emotional Fusebox, Rachel Tunnard's short and Jury Award for Best Film winner in 2015 at This is England. The film will close the festival after the award ceremony (Sat. 17th Nov. 8.00pm).
