BRITISH HUMOUR Masterclass
BRITISH HUMOUR IN CINEMA
You've probably heard this term before: British humour, to define a form of humour that we continentals particularly appreciate. This form of humour, sometimes deadpan, sometimes absurd, often offbeat, is sure to hit the mark. British comedies like Lady Killers, The Full Monty, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Th e Holy Grail, Good Morning England and many others since, have defined the basis of laughter across the Channel over time. What’s so special about British humor? How did it appear in the cinema, and how is it integrated into it? How is it staged?
During this masterclass Hussam Hindi will answer all these questions with supporting extracts, in a relaxed and joyful way.
Masterclass in French

TALK / MUTE FILMS
Crispy appetizer films... to be enjoyed cold!
The MUTE film series is made up of ultra-short silent films that demonstrate the fickleness of human behaviour. By taking a tongue-in-cheek look at an array of incongruous scenes, the films heighten the comedic aspect of greed, futility, desire and other aspects of modern life.
The MUTE series abides to three strict rules:
RULE 1 – zero dialogue
RULE 2 – fixed camera
RULE 3 – only one shot
Director Andy Lambert will talk to us about the origins of the concept and dissect pieces chosen from the selection of films screened for the occasion.
