These are the three jurors who will be responsible for choosing the 2021 prize list. The prize for the best documentary film, the prize for the best fiction film and the prize for the best animation film of 1000 euros each.
Mary McGuckian is a British writer, director and producer, born in Northern Ireland. She is committed to dramatic story telling from a female perspective and works on equal opportunities for women in the film industry. Her most recent film, A Girl from Mogadishu (2019) picked up the Cinema for Peace Foundation Women’s Empowerment Award at the Berlin Film Festival in 2020.
Director of The Pitch Film Fund, Luke Walton has produced more than 15 short films with RIF (Reel Issues Films). Since 2008 The Pitch has focused on developing emerging talent, adding additional benefits for participants including residential film study courses. The Pitch has hubs in the UK and South Africa. Luke’s background is in acting and he was the voice of Hugglegrabber in Early Man, directed by Nick Park.
Ken is a documentary filmmaker based in Dublin. He’s a graduate of the Irish National Film School and has 20 year’s experience in film and TV commercial direction. His short films have won many international awards including a European Academy Award. Ken’s feature documentaries have also garnered international praise, screening and winning awards at festivals such as Sundance and SXSW.
