British & Irish short film festival This is England was created 12 years ago by the Rouen Norwich Club twinning committee. At the time, a group of enthusiastic film lovers wanted to create a cultural bridge between the two sides of the Channel through the medium of film. Starting with a handful of films shown to school groups the event has gradually established itself in the cultural and educational landscape of Rouen, and now offers over 20,000 spectators (including school students) an entire week of competition in mid-November.
The dates : from 11 to 19 November
This is England in figures : 6 programmes of 90 minutes, an average of 50 short films and around 60 film professionals to present their films (directors, producers, scriptwriters, actors and actresses)
It's the perfect opportunity to talk to the artists every evening about their films and their free, bold vision of filmmaking! The detailed programme will be unveiled in early October.
